Progress with the South African Garden -- a year ago

Early stages . . .

Early stages . . .

Did you know that FOTGH is planting teaching gardens around the New GH representing the 5 Mediterranean Floras of the World? Join in a work party to help establish a lasting campus feature including plants from Australia, South Africa, Chile, The Mediterranean, and of course California!
Learn about invasive alien vegetation and how to control it without herbicides. Help in a multigenerational process of guided ecological succession leading to naturalistic plantings illustrating the special features and adaptations found in mediterranean climate floras. Right now is our last chance this season to beat back invasive alien plant species and secure our advance with mulch. We will provide gloves and some basic tools for the job, but if you have your own, please bring them. We are working on refreshments and music and are open to help organizing this event. Great info. Lucky me I recently found your site by accident (stumbleupon).
I have saved as a favorite for later!
